The best eSIM for the Philippines depends on your route as much as your data budget. A few days in Manila and Cebu are easier to plan than a trip with Palawan, remote accommodation and boat transfers. The local network behind the eSIM matters more than the seller’s name.
This guide compares seven travel providers for a week with at least 5GB and two weeks with at least 10GB. It also shows what unlimited plans allow you to share and when a local Smart eSIM with a Philippine number is the better fit.

Best eSIM for the Philippines: Quick Verdict
For a two-week holiday needing around 10GB, start with Ubigi’s US$16, 30-day package. It has the lowest public price in our two-week fixed-data comparison, lists Smart and Dito, and permits sharing. Choose the network that suits your accommodation rather than assuming one plan has the best signal on every island.
- A light week: aloSIM’s 5GB, seven-day plan is the cheapest in this fixed-data basket at US$10.50 and uses Globe.
- Globe with more time or data: Nomad eSIM offers 30-day 5GB and 10GB packages, plus larger fixed allowances.
- Higher daily use and hotspot: compare Saily and Sim Local’s 5GB daily high-speed pools with Ubigi’s total-package allowance.
- Mostly unlimited data on your phone: Holafly is an option, with 1GB of sharing per day.
- A Philippine number: Smart’s digital Tourist eSIM costs ₱599 and includes 24GB plus local calls and texts for 30 days; registration is required.

Philippines eSIM Prices for 7 and 14 Days
The baskets below use the full price of an available package that covers the trip: at least 5GB for seven days, or at least 10GB for fourteen days. A 30-day package can be good value for a week, but you still pay its complete price.
Full package prices for two holiday budgets
| Provider | 7-day trip At least 5GB | 14-day trip At least 10GB |
|---|---|---|
| Ubigi | US$14.00 10GB · 7 days | US$16.00 10GB · 30 days |
| Nomad eSIM | US$11.00 5GB · 30 days | US$17.00 10GB · 30 days |
| Airalo | US$11.00 5GB · 7 days | US$18.50 10GB · 15 days |
| aloSIM | US$10.50 5GB · 7 days | US$18.50 10GB · 15 days |
| Sim Local | US$11.25 5GB · 30 days | US$18.75 10GB · 30 days |
| Saily | US$11.99 5GB · 30 days | US$18.99 10GB · 30 days |
aloSIM leads the weekly basket at US$10.50; Ubigi leads the two-week basket at US$16. Airalo and aloSIM’s fifteen-day 10GB packages both cover fourteen days. Reader offers appear in the provider sections, where their eligibility is explained.
How We Compared These Plans
We compared official Philippines product pages, plan details, fair-use rules, sharing terms and local registration requirements. The scenario is one unlocked, eSIM-compatible phone, with accommodation Wi-Fi handling large updates and backups. These are documented-price and feature comparisons; we did not carry out comparable network or speed tests on the islands.
USD is the comparison currency. Smart’s local bundle is shown separately in PHP, without converting it into a travel-plan price. Your bank’s currency charges are outside these package totals. For a broader shortlist, see our best eSIMs for travel.
Unlimited Philippines eSIM Plans: What You Can Actually Share
Unlimited packages differ in the amount of data you can use at high speed and how much you can share. A total-trip allowance, a daily allowance and a separate hotspot cap solve different problems, so they are shown separately from fixed-data plans.
Selected unlimited alternatives for the same trip lengths
| Provider | 7-day trip Price (USD) | 14-day trip Price (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| Ubigi | US$23.00 7 days 20GB total at full speed Then up to 2Mbps | US$40.00 15 days 30GB total at full speed Then up to 2Mbps |
| Saily | US$26.99 7 days 5GB/day at high speed Then up to 1Mbps | US$48.99 15 days 5GB/day at high speed Then up to 1Mbps |
| Airalo | US$27.00 7 days 3GB/day at high speed Then up to 1Mbps | US$48.00 15 days 3GB/day at high speed Then up to 1Mbps |
| aloSIM | US$27.00 7 days 3GB/day at high speed Then up to 1Mbps | US$49.00 15 days 3GB/day at high speed Then up to 1Mbps |
| Sim Local | US$27.75 7 days 5GB/day at high speed Then up to 1Mbps | US$48.50 15 days 5GB/day at high speed Then up to 1Mbps |
| Holafly | US$27.50 7 days Unlimited phone data 1GB/day sharing | US$50.50 15 days Unlimited phone data 1GB/day sharing |
For occasional heavy days, Ubigi’s total allowance may be enough. For high usage every day, Saily or Sim Local’s 5GB daily pool is more relevant. Airalo and aloSIM provide smaller 3GB daily pools. Holafly’s phone-data format comes with a separate 1GB daily sharing limit, and its published Philippines page does not specify a numerical full-speed phone-data threshold.
A daily allowance is shared between your phone and connected devices; it is not extra data for each laptop or person. Reduced-speed data can help with basic tasks, but it is a weak basis for dependable video calls or large uploads. Our travel eSIM hotspot guide covers settings and common sharing problems.
Smart, Globe and Hotspot: Which Details Matter?
The travel eSIM seller and the local network are different things. Two brands can use the same carrier, so buying a second brand does not automatically give you a useful coverage backup.
Named networks and sharing for the selected travel products
| Provider | Philippine network | Hotspot position |
|---|---|---|
| Ubigi | Smart and Dito | Allowed; fixed balance or total full-speed allowance |
| Nomad eSIM | Globe | Supported from the fixed balance |
| Saily | Not named publicly | Allowed; fixed balance or 5GB/day high-speed pool |
| Airalo | Smart listed as primary | Supported subject to device/network; 3GB/day on unlimited |
| aloSIM | Globe | Supported; 3GB/day high-speed pool on unlimited |
| Sim Local | Globe | Allowed; 5GB/day high-speed pool on selected Unlimited plans |
| Holafly | Globe | 1GB/day sharing |
Ask your accommodation about its exact location. “Which works inside the rooms here, Smart or Globe?” is more useful than a general island-wide recommendation. A network name or 5G label does not establish reception on a boat, at an isolated beach or inside a particular building.

Choose Nomad eSIM if…
You want a Globe-based plan for maps, messaging and hotspot use, or a small Globe allowance alongside a Smart-based main connection.

The carrier detail is the main gap for an island itinerary. Saily’s public Philippines page does not identify the local operators. Its app features can justify choosing it, but they do not establish which network will work at a particular resort.
Choose Saily if…
You value the security tools or want 5GB of high-speed data per day with sharing allowed.

Choose Airalo if…
You want Smart listed as the primary network, a short fixed-data plan or an app you already use for other destinations.

A daily allowance is more useful when your heavy usage repeats each day. It cannot fix weak signal or congestion. Sim Local describes these plans as personal travel products and excludes use as a permanent home-broadband replacement.

Philippines · Philippines travel eSIM, not Holafly Plans
Holafly: Day-Based Unlimited Phone Data with Limited Sharing
Holafly suits travellers who want to buy unlimited phone data by trip length. The Philippines plan uses Globe, but sharing is limited to 1GB per day. That distinction matters more than the unlimited label if a laptop will be connected.
- Network

Unlimited does not promise unlimited full-speed tethering. Local network fair-use management can reduce speed, and the Philippines product page does not publish a numerical full-speed phone-data threshold. The 1GB daily sharing limit remains the practical constraint for laptop use.
Choose Holafly if…
You mainly use data on your phone, want a day-based purchase and can keep hotspot use within 1GB per day.
Consider another option if…
You expect regular large uploads, laptop calls or several people sharing one connection. A larger fixed balance or a plan with a stated daily high-speed sharing pool is a better fit.

Need a Philippine Phone Number? Consider a Local Smart eSIM
Smart Tourist eSIM: Local Data, Calls and Texts
Smart’s digital tourist bundle is relevant when you need a Philippine mobile line to call accommodation, drivers or other local numbers. It includes 24GB and local calls and texts for 30 days, and its QR code is delivered by email.
Local option: Smart Prepaid Digital Tourist eSIM 599
| Product | Included service | Price (PHP) |
|---|---|---|
| Digital Tourist eSIM 599 | 24GB · 30 days from SIM registration Unlimited calls and texts to Philippine networks | ₱599 |
Registration is part of the setup. Have your passport, proof of your Philippine address and return or onward ticket ready. Buying the QR code does not activate an unregistered local line.
Do not confuse this digital offer with Smart’s P1599 carded tourist eSIM. The P1599 listing was marked out of stock when checked and specifies physical delivery. It is a different product.
Choose Smart if…
A local mobile number and calls and texts are useful enough to justify the registration process.
Consider a travel eSIM if…
You mainly need maps and messaging data and want to follow a travel provider’s purchase and setup flow.

Manila, Cebu and Palawan: A Practical Connection Plan
One Philippines-wide eSIM can serve the whole itinerary. Flying from Manila to Cebu or Palawan does not require a new country package. The problem to plan around is the signal at your next stop.
- Manila: get data working before leaving the airport. Save your accommodation address and arrival-transport details.
- Cebu and Bohol: check the connection and any hotspot you will depend on before leaving for a quieter stay or starting a work call.
- Palawan, Boracay or Siargao: ask the property which local network works there. Download bookings and maps while you still have a reliable connection.
- Boat trips and remote transfers: plan for time offline. A standard country eSIM uses terrestrial mobile coverage, not satellite or maritime internet.
A Useful Backup Uses a Different Network
For a two-week trip where staying connected matters, one option is Ubigi’s 10GB, 30-day plan plus Nomad eSIM’s Globe-based 3GB, 30-day plan. The public-price total is US$23. You get separate main and backup balances, with an alternative named network; the allowances do not merge.
If your main plan already uses Globe, Ubigi’s 3GB, fifteen-day package costs US$7 and lists Smart and Dito. A routine city holiday may not need a second plan. Check that your phone can store the profiles you need, label them clearly and practise switching the mobile-data line.
Philippines-Only or a Regional eSIM?
Choose a local Philippines plan for a Philippines-only trip. If you are also visiting Vietnam, Thailand or another country, compare a regional package against the complete cost of separate local plans. A package called “Asia” or “Southeast Asia” does not automatically cover every stop.
Use our Southeast Asia eSIM comparison for a route across countries, or browse our eSIM destination guides for individual stops.
How Much Data Should You Buy for the Philippines?
The 5GB weekly and 10GB two-week baskets are sensible starting budgets for maps, messaging, transport apps and moderate browsing, with Wi-Fi handling big downloads. They are not enough for every traveller.
Planning examples with a 25% buffer
| Scenario | Estimated use plus buffer | Package target |
|---|---|---|
| One person · 7 days | 0.5GB/day × 7 × 1.25 = 4.38GB | At least 5GB |
| One person · 14 days | 0.5GB/day × 14 × 1.25 = 8.75GB | At least 10GB |
| Two people sharing · 14 days | 1GB/day combined × 14 × 1.25 = 17.5GB | At least 20GB |
Size laptop work separately. Video calls, photo uploads and background updates can overwhelm a phone-only budget. Pause cloud backups and automatic updates on a shared connection. When two people share, the second person also loses access whenever the hotspot phone leaves.
For a more detailed estimate, use our travel eSIM data guide. For a group that will split up, our family travel eSIM guide explains when separate plans are more practical.
How to Set Up Your eSIM and Register a Local SIM
Before Departure and on Arrival
- Check the exact phone model and carrier lock. Regional versions can differ. Our eSIM compatibility guide shows what to check.
- Choose enough validity for arrival and departure. Compare your actual travel times against a short plan’s validity, including any extra days you may need.
- Install using a stable internet connection. Save the provider’s instructions and label the profile so you can identify it later.
- Select the travel eSIM for mobile data on arrival. Enable its data roaming when the provider requires it. Keep data roaming off on your home line and disable automatic data switching if you want to control which line supplies data.
- Test data on the phone, then any hotspot. If only the laptop fails, check the provider’s hotspot and APN instructions before deleting the eSIM.
Installation and the start of paid validity are separate events on many of these plans. Follow the selected package’s activation instructions rather than assuming every provider uses the same deadline. Our guide to when to buy and install an eSIM explains the stages.
Keeping your usual line active does not change its roaming tariff for calls and texts. See our dual-SIM travel settings guide if you want to keep that number alongside your travel data.
Registering a Local Smart eSIM as a Tourist
Smart’s official tourist registration guidance asks for your registration details, a selfie and these documents:
- Your passport.
- Proof of address in the Philippines.
- A return or onward ticket showing when you will leave the Philippines.
For tourists, local SIM registration is temporary for 30 days unless extended with the required visa documentation. The registration period and a data package’s expiry are separate rules, so adding data alone does not extend the registration.
A travel eSIM roaming on Smart is a different product from a local Smart prepaid line. Follow the requirements of the provider you buy from; the network name alone does not determine the registration process.
Final Verdict: Match the Network and Allowance to Your Trip
For a two-week holiday with around 10GB of data, Ubigi is our starting pick. For a light week on Globe, aloSIM has the lowest public fixed-data price in this comparison. Nomad eSIM is a strong Globe alternative with longer validity and larger balances.
For heavier daily sharing, compare Saily and Sim Local’s daily high-speed pools. Airalo offers Smart-based plans and another unlimited format; Holafly suits phone-first use with its sharing cap understood. Choose the local Smart digital bundle when a Philippine number and local calls and texts are real requirements.
For an island itinerary, enough data, offline essentials and an appropriate local network are the useful priorities. Buy a second-network backup when the cost of being offline justifies it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will one Philippines eSIM work in Manila, Cebu and Palawan?
A Philippines-wide plan covers those stops within the same country. You do not need a new country package when changing islands. Reception still depends on local mobile coverage, and boats or remote stays can have gaps.
Is Smart or Globe better for Palawan?
There is no island-wide winner established by this comparison. Ask your accommodation about its exact property. For a useful backup, choose a different local network rather than a second brand using the same carrier.
Does a travel eSIM give me a Philippine phone number?
The travel-data packages compared here do not include a Philippine mobile line. Smart’s local digital Tourist eSIM includes local calls and texts. Optional US numbers from Saily and US or Canadian Hushed numbers from aloSIM are separate services.
Can I use an unlimited eSIM as my only laptop connection?
Only if its sharing rules, full-speed allowance and coverage fit the work. Holafly limits sharing to 1GB/day. Saily and the selected Sim Local Unlimited plans share a 5GB daily high-speed pool; Ubigi’s seven- and fifteen-day unlimited plans instead use a total-package full-speed allowance. Have a fallback for important calls.
Why do some recommendations last 15 or 30 days for a 14-day trip?
You buy an available package and pay its full price. Longer validity can still be cheaper than a shorter alternative. The tables show the real duration purchased, rather than a prorated fourteen-day price.
Can I keep my WhatsApp number with a Philippines eSIM?
Yes. Using a travel eSIM for data does not require you to register a new WhatsApp number. Keep your existing account and use the travel data connection for its messages and calls.
Can I buy a Smart tourist eSIM before landing?
The digital Tourist eSIM 599 is sold online and the QR code is emailed to you. Buying it does not complete the required local SIM registration. Keep your documents ready and finish the registration and setup before depending on it for arrival transport.
