Terms of Use

The rules for using My Tech Guide’s articles, eSIM comparisons and tools, including what to check before choosing a travel plan.

Last updated:

1. About My Tech Guide and these terms

MyTechGuide, also presented as My Tech Guide, is the publishing brand used for the travel eSIM reviews, comparisons, destination guides and practical connectivity advice available at mytechguide.io. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of this website.

These Terms of Use explain the rules for using our website, content and comparison tools. Please read them before using those features. They apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@mytechguide.io. Separate written agreements govern any commercial services we expressly agree to provide, such as a commissioned publication.

2. Our guides and recommendations

Our content helps you research travel connectivity and compare available options. Recommendations reflect the use case, criteria and information described in the relevant guide; a plan suitable for one traveller may be unsuitable for another.

Information can change after publication, including coverage, supported networks, device compatibility, activation rules and plan availability. An article’s update date does not mean that every external provider term is checked continuously.

We aim to explain important limitations clearly and correct material errors. Our guides provide general information rather than a personalised professional service or a promise that a particular plan will meet every requirement of your trip.

3. Prices, discounts and promotional offers

Prices, data allowances, validity periods and promotional codes are presented for the currency, date and scenario stated in the relevant content. A comparison may use a standard price or a discounted price; check the accompanying explanation before comparing totals.

The provider’s checkout determines the amount payable for a purchase, subject to applicable law. Taxes, exchange rates, payment fees, regional pricing or account-specific offers can affect the final amount.

Promotional codes can have eligibility rules, minimum spends, excluded plans or limits on combining discounts. Providers may change or withdraw an offer. We cannot guarantee that a code will apply to every purchase, so confirm that the intended discount appears before paying.

4. Finder results, rankings and comparison tools

Our eSIM Finder, tables, scores and shortlists help narrow down options using the information available in the relevant catalogue or article. They cover a selection of providers and plans and do not represent every offer on the market.

Results depend on your inputs and the assumptions described in the tool or guide. Data-use estimates are planning estimates; streaming, video calls, background activity and hotspot sharing can change actual usage considerably.

Displayed prices and plan details may not be live checkout data. A route recommendation depends on the plan covering each destination in the scenario. Check the provider’s current destination list, validity and usage restrictions before purchasing.

A score or “best” label expresses an editorial assessment for the stated criteria. It does not guarantee network performance, uninterrupted service or suitability for a different itinerary.

5. What to check before buying an eSIM

Before completing a purchase, check the following with the provider and, where relevant, your device manufacturer or existing mobile carrier:

  • Your exact device model and regional variant support eSIM, and the device is carrier-unlocked where required.
  • The plan covers your destinations and intended travel dates, including any transit countries where you need data.
  • You understand when validity starts, the installation deadline and any activation requirements.
  • The allowance, fair-use policy, speed reductions, hotspot rules and any calling or SMS features meet your needs.
  • You understand the provider’s cancellation, refund, installation and reinstallation conditions.

Follow the provider’s instructions when installing or activating a plan. Keep account credentials and activation QR codes private. For essential travel arrangements, consider a backup connection rather than relying on a single plan or device.

6. Purchases and services from external providers

An eSIM purchase made through a link on My Tech Guide is made with the provider or seller identified at checkout. That organisation’s terms govern the purchase, account, payment, activation, mobile service and any applicable refund process.

My Tech Guide does not supply the mobile network service or control a provider’s coverage, network congestion, roaming agreements, support decisions or account systems. Our links and recommendations do not create an agency relationship or make us a party to your purchase.

Contact the relevant seller for payment, activation, connectivity or refund requests. You can contact us about an error in our content or a problem with one of our links.

7. Affiliate links and sponsored content

Some links are affiliate links. We may receive a commission if you follow one and complete a qualifying transaction, without an additional charge being added by us. Discounts and the final purchase price remain subject to the offer and provider’s checkout.

The website may also publish paid collaborations or sponsored placements. We clearly identify sponsored placements and paid collaborations in the relevant content. The presence of a provider in our content does not mean that every guide, ranking or mention is a paid placement.

Our Affiliate Disclosure explains these relationships in more detail. Information about referral tracking is covered in our Privacy Policy.

8. Using the website responsibly

You may browse our public guides and use the available tools for lawful purposes. When using the website or contacting us, you must not:

  • Attempt unauthorised access to accounts, administrative areas or systems.
  • Introduce malware, exploit vulnerabilities, bypass security measures or deliberately disrupt access for other visitors.
  • Send fraudulent, unlawful, threatening or abusive communications, or impersonate another person.
  • Use automated requests in a way that overloads the website or bypasses technical access controls.
  • Republish protected material or use another person’s information in a way that infringes applicable rights.

These rules do not prevent normal use of search engines, accessibility tools or other activities permitted by law.

9. Content, images and intellectual property

Rights in the website’s original text, design, graphics and tools belong to their respective owners to the extent protected by applicable law. Provider names, logos, screenshots and other third-party materials remain subject to the rights of their owners.

You may link to our articles and save or print material for personal reference. Short quotations may be used where the law permits; identify the source and link to the original article where reasonably possible.

For republication of complete articles, substantial extracts, illustrations or other protected material, contact support@mytechguide.io to request permission unless your use is otherwise authorised by law. Permission to read an article does not itself grant a licence to redistribute its protected content commercially.

10. Messages, corrections and submissions

If you report a factual issue, include the article URL and enough detail to help us investigate it. Please provide accurate contact information and submit only material you are entitled to share.

Sending us a message does not transfer ownership of your original work or create a paid engagement. Any publication rights, paid assignment or commercial collaboration requiring an agreement must be agreed separately.

The handling of personal information in your message is described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Privacy and newsletter subscriptions

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit the website, use our contact channels or subscribe to the newsletter. These terms do not replace that notice or any consent required for optional tracking or marketing.

Newsletter subscription is optional. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter or contact us for help. Sending a general enquiry does not itself subscribe you to marketing emails.

12. Website availability and updates

The website and its tools may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, technical failures, security incidents or problems with external services. We aim to keep the website useful and reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted access.

We may correct, update or remove content and adjust features for editorial, technical, legal or security reasons. Such changes do not override any obligation or remedy that applies by law.

13. Responsibility and limitations

The website provides information to support your decisions. We do not guarantee a particular financial saving, connection speed, network availability or outcome from using a guide or comparison tool.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not accept responsibility for losses caused by an independent provider’s service failure or by circumstances outside our reasonable control. This does not exclude any liability we may have for our own conduct or representations.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Your mandatory consumer rights and other statutory protections remain unaffected.

14. Applicable rights and disputes

Applicable law determines the rights and remedies available to you and the courts or authorities competent to deal with a dispute. These terms do not require you to give up mandatory protections in your country or use compulsory private arbitration.

If a concern relates to the website or our content, contact support@mytechguide.io so we can try to resolve it. Contacting us first is not a condition of exercising any legal right or bringing a complaint to a competent authority.

15. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms to reflect changes to website features, editorial or commercial practices, security needs or legal requirements. The date at the top identifies the revision of this page.

Revisions are intended to apply prospectively, subject to applicable law. Posting an update does not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen. Where the law requires additional notice or agreement, changing this page alone is not a substitute for it.

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions apply only to the extent that they can fairly and lawfully continue to operate.
