Best No-Expiry eSIM: Data, Credit and Renewal Conditions Compared

Leftover data is worth keeping when you have another trip in mind. A no-expiry eSIM can save you buying a fresh package each time, but first check what stays available: the gigabytes, the money balance or just the installed eSIM.

Quick Verdict

For repeat visits to a known destination, I’d start with BNESIM’s Non-expiring packages. You buy a fixed allowance and keep the unused GB for later visits within its coverage. For frequent trips across different countries, Roamless Pay as You Go is a practical wallet option, though its general inactivity wording needs care.

  • BNESIM: fixed data with an explicit No Expiration label.
  • Roamless: one money balance across supported countries; read the inactivity caveat before leaving it untouched long term.
  • Eskimo: fixed data with transfers of eligible paid allowances; account dormancy rules apply.
  • Keepgo: named regional bundles worth comparing for recurring routes; account activity still matters.
  • UNISIM: retained credit, with rates that can change by network within a country.
  • Surfroam PLUS: renewable credit that requires an annual top-up.

I’d choose a cheaper ordinary package if I expected to use the whole allowance on one holiday. Our best travel eSIM guide covers that wider choice. Yesim Pay & Fly stays outside this shortlist because its published credit-expiry statements conflict.

Table of Contents

What Does “No Expiry” Actually Cover?

Look for the thing you’ll have left after the trip. Providers use similar wording for four different arrangements:

  • No-expiry data: buy 10GB, use 4GB and keep the remaining 6GB within the package’s coverage, subject to the account terms.
  • No-expiry credit: keep a money balance and pay as you connect. What it buys depends on the destination rate and, with some providers, the network.
  • Renewable credit: retain the balance by making another top-up before its validity ends.
  • A reusable eSIM profile: keep the eSIM installed and buy new packages on it. Those packages can still expire.

Check the account’s inactivity rule as well as the package. Data can have no expiry date while the account holding it can be closed after a long period without use. Coverage, rates and continued service are separate conditions too.

Start with the gap between your trips. A wallet that needs another payment every year is a different commitment from an allowance you only need to use occasionally.

When Does a No-Expiry eSIM Actually Save Money?

The second trip is where no-expiry data can earn its premium. BNESIM’s USA prices show why: the better purchase changes when the same 10GB is spread across two visits.

When the no-expiry premium pays off: BNESIM USA example

Usage pattern30-day purchases (EUR)No-expiry purchase (EUR)
10GB used on one trip1 × 10GB = €6.991 × 10GB = €8.49
5GB on each of two trips, 90 days apart2 × 5GB = €9.981 × 10GB = €8.49
Calculated from prices checked October 16, 2026. Future purchases are modeled at today’s prices, not guaranteed future quotes.

Annual top-ups add another cost to plan for. With Surfroam PLUS, a €25 initial credit purchase and two €10 refills would mean €46.90 paid for €45 of credit, assuming unchanged prices. Most of that remains spendable balance, but you still have to commit the money to keep it active.

Use our travel data usage guide to estimate what you’ll actually consume, then compare the whole purchase with an option from our cheapest travel eSIM guide. A low price per GB helps only if you use enough of the allowance.

What Does No-Expiry Data Cost Across Repeat Trips?

Here’s the same repeat-trip budget across the six options: two seven-day USA visits, 90 days apart, using 5GB on each visit. One allowance or wallet funds both trips. This is a USA example; the result can change with the destination.

Compare the payment as well as the data cost. A wallet may leave money for another trip, while a 10GB package is empty after 10GB of use. Figures exclude rewards and reader discounts; wallet rates are assumed to stay unchanged between visits.

Surfroam Travel eSIM PLUS€13.50 at €1.35/GB€17.95 for €15 credit€1.50 credit
Prices checked October 16, 2026. Surfroam’s selected initial purchase costs more than its credit value. Its annual top-up is not needed during this 90-day example. USD and EUR totals are not ranked against one another.

Prices are the published amounts before any additional tax or payment fee determined by your billing details. Roamless’s terms allow taxes to be added. BNESIM and Surfroam are shown separately in their available EUR quotes; there is no cross-currency price ranking.

UNISIM’s network choice changes the bill. The example uses AT&T. Ten gigabytes at its listed Verizon rate would cost US$29.80; on T-Mobile, US$67.60. Check the rate you can actually use, especially before connecting a laptop.

This comparison uses provider catalogs, help pages and terms reviewed October 16, 2026. It does not include independent speed or coverage testing. Yesim is covered separately because its long-term credit validity remains unresolved.

Fixed data · Country and regional packages

BNESIM: Keep Unused Data for Return Visits

BNESIM makes sense when you know where you’ll be going back. Buy a package marked Non-expiring and the unused GB stay available for another visit within its coverage. The USA catalog also sells cheaper 30-day options, so the validity label deserves a second look before you pay.

Select Non-expiring / No Expiration. BNESIM’s help pages use “one-time” inconsistently. The exact catalog label is a clearer guide to the purchase; monthly subscriptions are separate and can renew automatically.

Keep the country list in mind. Unused USA data will help on your next USA trip. It won’t fund a later visit to Japan, so choose regional coverage only when the extra destinations are useful to you.

The official plan FAQ describes non-expiring data as usable until consumed, without a scheduled annual refill requirement. Account and service terms still apply.

Choose BNESIM if…

You have repeat visits planned within the package’s country list.

Consider another option if…

Your next destination is uncertain and a money balance would be easier to reuse.

Pay as you go · Money balance

Roamless: One Wallet for Frequent Trips

Roamless is useful when the next trip could be somewhere different. You keep dollars in one wallet and spend them at each destination’s rate. That suits small, uneven amounts of data across several stops; heavy use still deserves a fixed-package price comparison.

Rates checked October 16, 2026 in the current destination catalog. The 5GB column is a usage calculation; credit purchases and taxes are separate.

I’d keep this as a regularly used travel wallet. The FLEX credit guide says purchased credit does not expire. The general terms also mention 12-month inactivity for certain consumption-based credits, alongside plans that never expire. Their application to personal FLEX balances remains unclear; Business accounts have a separate explicit 12-month rule.

That makes a small balance for recurring trips easier to recommend than a large reserve left untouched for years. FIX packages have a 30-day usage window, and some promotional rewards expire; neither inherits the purchased FLEX credit rule.

Auto Top Up is optional. If enabled, it charges your saved payment method for the amount you selected when credit falls below US$5. Leave it off if you want to control each payment yourself.

Choose Roamless if…

Your trips cross different countries and you use modest amounts of data at each stop.

Consider another option if…

You need clear terms for leaving a balance untouched for several years.

Fixed data · Transferable paid allowance

Eskimo: Share Eligible Leftover Data

Eskimo gives leftover paid data another possible use: transfer it to someone who needs it. That can help when one traveler has plenty left and another is running low. Choose the coverage first, because transferring a USA-only allowance does not widen its country list.

Eligible paid fixed-data transfers start at 500MB. Each recipient needs their own compatible setup; you are transferring allowance, rather than sharing one installed eSIM between phones. Our family travel eSIM guide compares that choice with separate plans and hotspot sharing.

The account still needs activity. Under section 7.4 of Eskimo’s terms, more than two years with no network connection, data use, purchase or data transfer can lead to cancellation and loss of the balance. Eskimo says it will make reasonable efforts to give at least 30 days’ notice. Opening the app alone is not a listed activity.

These prices and the no-expiry recommendation cover fixed data. Unlimited day passes have separate daily conditions. The current two-year dormancy rule concerns the account; it is not a two-year countdown on every fixed-data purchase.

Choose Eskimo if…

You may pass eligible unused data to a travel companion.

Consider another option if…

You expect the account to sit completely unused for more than two years.

Lifetime bundles · Regional country lists

Keepgo: Compare the Named Bundle First

With Keepgo, the bundle name matters more than the “Lifetime” label. Corvus offers 10GB for US$20 on its Europe-focused country list. Cygnus costs US$45 for 10GB across the USA, Canada and Mexico. Price the route you’ll repeat before choosing the allowance.

Keepgo’s validity FAQ says the data has no expiry. Section 5.3 of its terms still allows action against an account after 24 months without a purchase, refill or service usage. An email notice then gives 30 days to act before possible suspension or deletion, including Lifetime products.

You don’t have to make a paid annual refill under that stated rule. Using the existing allowance counts as activity. Keep the account email current and deal with any inactivity notice promptly; optional automatic refills are a separate setting.

Choose Keepgo if…

A named bundle covers your recurring route at a price you’re happy to pay.

Consider another option if…

You mainly need USA data; the Cygnus 10GB price is high beside the other USD examples.

Pay as you go · Network-specific rates

UNISIM: Watch the Network Rate

UNISIM keeps your money available between trips, but the network you use can change what it buys. Its FAQ says unused credit is retained indefinitely. In the USA, the gap between the listed AT&T and T-Mobile rates is large enough to make network selection part of the buying decision.

Published USD rates checked October 16, 2026. Calculated usage costs; funding amounts and applicable tax are separate.

The site offers US$25 in initial credit. At the AT&T USA rate, 10GB leaves US$3.10; on a more expensive network, the same balance buys less data. Automatic selection aims for the cheapest available network, so availability still matters.

The UNISIM balance FAQ explains retained credit. Its user agreement says a deleted eSIM cannot simply be reactivated; moving the balance requires a new eSIM and support. Leave the installed profile on your phone between trips.

Choose UNISIM if…

You’re comfortable checking network prices before using the balance.

Consider another option if…

You want one predictable country rate without monitoring network changes.

Renewable credit · Annual top-up

Surfroam PLUS: Budget for the Annual Top-Up

Surfroam PLUS fits travelers who will keep using and refilling the balance. Its USA rate is €1.35/GB across the listed AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon networks. Keeping that credit between trips requires a top-up each year, so include the next payment in your budget.

Budget for the payment, not just the credit value. The €15 new-eSIM option costs €17.95. Ten gigabytes in the USA consumes €13.50 and leaves €1.50, but your initial outlay is still €17.95. Larger purchases can narrow the payment-to-credit gap while tying up more money.

The PLUS expiry guidance requires a yearly refill. Data usage alone does not replace that payment. ULTRA has a separate 30-day balance window; choose the PLUS product if you want the annual renewal model.

You’ll use the balance regularly and the annual refill fits your travel spending.

Consider another option if…

You want a small reserve for a trip that may be several years away.

Why Yesim Pay & Fly Is Not on Our No-Expiry Shortlist

I wouldn’t choose Yesim Pay & Fly specifically to store money long term while its expiry wording remains inconsistent. The relevant official pages give different answers:

Why Yesim’s published wording does not settle the expiry question

Official materialWhat it says
Pay & Fly product page and product helpThe balance does not expire.
Ycoins top-up help, updated August 14, 2026Purchased and bonus Ycoins are valid for one year from receipt.
Terms of Service, section 8.7.1Ycoins can have an expiry communicated in the app or when credited.
Pages compared October 16, 2026. We have no account-specific confirmation resolving these conflicting statements.

You can compare the Pay & Fly guide, Ycoins top-up guidance and Ycoins terms. Together, they leave the applicable rule for long-term storage unresolved.

If you already use Yesim, check the validity shown for your credited funds and ask support to clarify any mismatch before leaving a large balance. Ordinary 30-day packages and annual day passes have their own terms; they don’t settle the Pay & Fly question.

How to Keep Your Data or Credit Usable Between Trips

  1. Buy the right version. Check the package’s validity label and the account inactivity rule. A monthly plan from the same provider may work differently.
  2. Check the next destination. Saved country data keeps its country restriction. For a wallet, check both coverage and the local rate.
  3. Keep the eSIM installed. Turn the line off between trips. Before deleting it or changing phones, check the provider’s replacement procedure.
  4. Record any deadline. Surfroam PLUS requires a top-up; Eskimo and Keepgo require attention to account activity. Opening the app may not count.
  5. Choose how you’ll pay. Review optional auto top-up and subscription renewal settings. Switching mobile data off does not cancel automatic charging.
  6. Check again before departure. Confirm the remaining balance and current rate, and keep your account email accessible for notices.

Before buying, check eSIM compatibility and carrier-lock status. Bringing a laptop? Read the hotspot conditions as well. Our eSIM guides cover installation and connection problems.

Final Verdict: Buy for the Trips You Expect to Take

I’d buy a modest no-expiry allowance for a destination I expect to revisit. BNESIM is the starting point here; Eskimo adds useful paid-data transfers, and Keepgo deserves a look when a named regional bundle fits the route.

For frequent trips to changing destinations, compare Roamless and UNISIM at the rates you’ll actually use. Keep Roamless’s inactivity caveat and UNISIM’s network pricing in view. Surfroam PLUS makes sense when you expect to spend and refill the balance each year.

For one holiday that will use the entire allowance, I’d take the cheaper suitable package. For repeat trips, pay extra only when keeping the leftover data is likely to save a later purchase. That’s the useful part of no expiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does no expiry mean unlimited data?

No. A 10GB no-expiry package still contains 10GB. A money balance buys data at the applicable rate until the credit runs out. Unlimited day passes are separate products with their own daily conditions.

Is a 365-day eSIM the same as a no-expiry eSIM?

No. A 365-day package has a deadline, though it may cover several trips within that year. Leftover data survives beyond it only if the product explicitly allows rollover or an extension.

Does switching off the eSIM pause expiry?

Switching off the line stops it from using mobile data. It does not pause a package’s validity or an account inactivity period. Keep those deadlines separate from your phone settings.

Do free or bonus credits follow the same rules as paid credit?

Not necessarily. Some Roamless promotional rewards expire even though its FLEX guide describes purchased credit as non-expiring. Check the individual offer; a free trial’s validity tells you little about the paid product.

Can I move my leftover data to a new phone?

Check the provider’s transfer procedure before deleting the old eSIM. You may be able to reinstall it, need a replacement profile or need support to move the balance. Retained credit alone does not guarantee an automatic device transfer.

Will a no-expiry travel eSIM preserve a phone number?

Not by itself. These products primarily provide mobile data or a data wallet. A phone number, calling subscription or SMS add-on can have separate fees and renewal conditions.
